Rodrigo Jordán Fuchs is a renowned mountain climber. He lead the first South American expedition to summit Everest in 1992. He summited again on 2012 and 2016, on different routes, making him 1 of 3 people in the world to have summited the mountain on each of its faces. He has also participated in many expeditions around the world and is author of various books and documentaries that narrate these adventures, now published on this website.
Business person, social entrepreneur, and university professor, Rodrigo has always had a passion for teaching and has been concerned with education worldwide. He is founder and president of Vertical S.A., Leadership Professor for Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile’s MBA program, and a member of faculty for Executive Education at Wharton School of Business at University of Pennsylvania.
For over 30 years, Rodrigo Jordán has embarked on a number of mountaineering expeditions all over the globe, leading many of them successfully, making first ascents on several mountains and discovering unexplored territory in Antartica. He has also been in kayaking expeditions to the arctic and antarctic, contributing to scientific research on climate change. These are the stories of some of these expeditions.
One of Rodrigo Jordan’s greatest passion is education. He works as a university professor in both Chile and United States. He also created Vertical Institute based in Santiago, Chile.
